Опис:
Adaptacija romana Elizabeth Gaskell napisanog 1855. godine istoga naziva. Radnja je smeštena u viktorijansku Englesku, a glavni je lik mlada Margaret Hale. Margaret s obitelji seli sa sunčanog juga na mračni, industrijski sever Engleske nakon što njen otac, zbog nekih moralnih dvojba, odluči napustiti crkvu. Na severu upoznaje mnogo novih ljudi koji su ipak nešto drukčiji od južnjaka na koje je naviknula. U pomoć njenom ocu priskače industrijalac John Thornton, ponosan i oštar čovek koji se zaljubljuje u Margaret, koja se sprijatelji i s običnim radničkim pukom, između ostalih sindikalcem Nicholason Higginsom i njegovom kćeri Bessy. Važnu ulogu u priči ima i gđa Thornton, majka g. Thorntona, koja je izmimno nesklona glavnoj junakinji.
