U ovoj adaptaciji njemačkog romana Save Me, prve knjige u trilogiji Maxton Hall koju je napisala Mona Kasten, pratimo srednjoškolku Ruby Bell koja dobije stipendiju za elitnu privatnu školu Maxton Hall, gdje se prvi put u životu susreće s luksuzom i superbogatašima. Ruby ne dopušta nikome da je odvrati od njezina životnog cilja, a to je pohađanje Sveučilišta u Oxfordu.

Međutim, nakon što igrom slučaja dozna skandaloznu tajnu o obitelji svog kolege Jamesa Beauforta, nasljednika bogate dinastije, Ruby privuče više pažnje nego što je planirala. James je spreman učiniti sve kako bi kupio njezinu šutnju, sve dok se između njih dvoje ne pojavi iskra.
