Опис:

Film je adaptacija istoimenog romana Jamesa Kennawaya, koji je, pak, inspiraciju pronašao u vlastitim iskustvima pripadnika Gordonovih Highlandera, znamenite škotske pukovnije Britanske vojske.
Major Jock Sinclair, tijekom tokom Drugog svjetskog rata, zamijeni poginulog zapovjednika, bataljona škotske pukovnije. Radnja, smještena neposredno iza rata, prikazuje kako bataljon dobiva novog zapovjednika u liku potpukovnika Basila Barrowa, za koga vojna vrhuška drži da je primjereniji mirnodopskoj službi, a što dovodi do sukoba između dvojice muškaraca.
