Prvi dio Suzukijeve Taisho trilogije (ostala dva su Kagerô-za, iz 1981., Yumeji iz 1991.). Sveučilišni profesor Aochi za ljetovanja u priobalnom gradiću susretne prijatelja iz djetinjstva Nakasona.
