Lawsona, The Doolittle Raid Pilot Ted Lawson (Van Johnson) sprema se u Tokio, na tajni vojni zadatak koji vodi pukovnik Jimmy Doolittle (Spencer Tracy). To mu teško pada, osobito zbog činjenice da ostavlja mladu suprugu Ellen (Phyllis Thaxter) s kojom se tek vjenčao i koja je usto i trudna.
