Con Vallian (Sam Elliott ) je misteriozni revolveraš dolazi u život farmerske obitelji. Putujući divljinom Con se upozna s farmerskim životom, no obitelj koja ga je primila doživi najgori mogući scenarij. Naime, Duncan (Tom Conti), Susanne McKaskek (Kate Capshaw) i njihov sin postaju metom nemilosrdne bande revolveraša. Con će dati sve od sebe da pomogne ovoj obitelji, a posebno da bude na usluzi atraktivnoj Susanne.
