Опис:

Crna komedija o bračnom paru koji se bori sa svakodnevnim stresom koji je posljedica života u velikom gradu. Mel Edison (Jack Lemmon) frustriran je životom u New Yorku. Gradska gužva, nesnosne vrućine, štrajk smetlara, pokvareno dizalo, popucale cijevi u stanu, bučni susjedi, smrad s balkona" samo su neke od stvari oko kojih se Mel svakodnevno uzrujava dok ga njegova nezaposlena supruga Edna (Anne Bancroft) smiruje, uspješno podnoseći njegovo čangrizanje. Kad Mel napokon dobije otkaz na poslu, a stan im opljačkaju lopovi, čaša se prelije do kraja. Edna se mora zaposliti i po čitave dane radi, a Mel ostaje sam kod kuće što ga doslovce dovodi na rub živčanog sloma. Istodobno, Edna upoznaje suludi ritam života u gradu te od staložene osobe postaje živčana i sve više nalikuje nekadašnjem Melu"
