Novoimenovani šerif Pat Garet zadovoljan je kada njegov stari prijatelj Dok Holidej stigne u Linkoln u Novom Meksiku. Dok traži svog ukradenog konja i otkriva da je u vlasništvu Bilija Kida. U neočekivanom obrtu događaja Bili i Dok postaju prijatelji. Zbog toga odnosi između Pata i Doka će zahladneti.
