Опис:

U Njujork 1848. godine stiže mlada Francuskinja Madeline da pronađe bivšeg francuskog maršala i da mu uruči pismo od njegovog unuka, sa nadom da će mu finansijski pomoći za francusku revoluciju. Starac je bogat i teške naravi, a njegova posluga koja godinama čeka da umre, da bi se dokopali njegovog bogatstva, sad planira njegovo ubistvo.
