The Girl (1996)

— U Jorkširu sredinom 19. veka, Hana Bojl (Sioban Flin) je ostala sa porodicom Metjua Torntona (Malkolm Stodard), čoveka za koga njena majka na samrti tvrdi da joj je otac. Maltretirana od strane Torntonove ogorčene i osvetoljubive supruge En (Džil Bejker), koja na Hanu gleda samo kao na dokaz neverstva njenog muža, udaje se za seoskog mesara (Mark Benton), čija majka (Suzan Džejmison) je dodatno muči. Ali, svojim strpljenjem, inteligencijom i snagom osvaja svoju slobodu i čoveka kog voli.

Zvala se Hana Bojl, ali za ljude u selu ona je uvek bila "Devojka" – kopile Metjua Torntona, sa kojom je Metjuova supruga, En, divljački postupala. Pobegla je da traži zaštitu kod trgovca konjima Neda Ridlija (Džonatan Kejk), koji se sa njom ranije sprijateljio. Ali, kako je beskućnica postala prelepa žena, postala je predmet žudnje lokalnih mladića, pa čak i svog polubrata. Protiv njene želje, udata je za grubog, senzualnog muškarca, ali Hana je nastavila da se bori za čoveka kojeg je želela, koji ju je obožavao i učio značenju prave ljubavi i strasti...
