Ejmi Blu je antipatična tinejdžerka zaljubljena u brzinu, a njen dečko Džordan Vajt je pasivni, sporokapirajući folirant, koji ne želi da vodi ljubav s njom jer se očajnički plaši side (iako oboje tvrde da su nevini). Jednog dana nailaze na Zavijera Reda, šarmantnog ali zagonetnog lutalicu, koji ima lošu naviku da ubija ljude. Zavijer (ili samo X, kako Džordan insistira da ga oslovljava) pridružuje se mladom paru na njihovom naizgled beskrajnom putovanju i dokazuje da predstavlja preteće i odbojno, ali ipak čudno primamljujuće društvo čije prisustvo dovodi u pitanje odanost i seksualni identitet.
