Страшниот рогат крал ќе стори сѐ за да го поседува, но нему му се спротивставува еден необичен противник. Тоа е младиот свињар по име Таран, кој сонува за херојски дела. Со дружината во која се храбрата принцеза Ејлонви, свирачот Флевдур Флам и Хен Вен, неверојатната свиња што знае да ја предвидува иднината, Таран ќе се обиде еднаш засекогаш да го запре злото на црниот котел.
