Prireditev je eden najbolj vznemirljivih in priljubljenih tovrstnih dogodkov na ameriški televiziji, ki v ustrezno spektakularnem okolju prinaša večer glamurja, zabave in navdihujočih nastopov nadarjenih zvezd, ter k ogledu pritegne na milijone gledalcev po vsem svetu. Po vrsti 69. slavnostno podelitev emmyjev bo v nedeljo, 17. septembra 2017, v živo iz dvorane Microsoft Theater v Los Angelesu vodil z emmyjem nagrajeni Stephen Colbert.
