Опис:
1861. godina. Litvanija se nalazi u sastavu Ruske imperije. Političke intrige u vezi upravo potpisanog carskog ukaza o oslobađanju kmetova dovode do pobune u jednom litvanskom selu. Tadas Blinda nevoljno upada u sam centar zbivanja i postaje vođa ustanika. Pored toga, Tadas se zaljubljuje u ćerku bogatog zemljoposednika što izaziva sumnju u njegove namere.
