Hannah Maynard (Kerry Fox), tužiteljica na Haškom tribunalu, uspije nagovoriti mladu ženu iz Bosne da svjedoči protiv navodnog ratnog zločinca. Usred nedosljednosti političkih interesa i prijetnji nacionalista bosanskih Srba, ona shvaća da njezini suparnici ne samo da sjede nasuprot njoj nego se nalaze i među njezinim redovima. Hannah se suočava s parnicom svog života, iznenada rastrgana između svoje snažne vjere u sustav i odanosti prema svjedokinji.
