Stanovnici dijela Londona proglase neovisnost kad otkriju stari sporazum. Zbog toga iznenada nastaje potreba za "putovnicom za Pimlico"...
Radnja filma odvija se u Pimlicu, unutrašnjoj četvrti Londona. Neočekivana zakašnjela eksplozija bombe otkriva blago i dokument iz kojeg mještani Pimlica saznaju da je pimlico zapravo dio - Burgundije. Uskoro su barovi u pimlicu otvoreni cijelu noć, u dućanima se bez problema može nabaviti uvozna roba. No, engleski Whitehall ne može ostati neutralan pa nameće carine i stroge propise koji izoliraju Pimlico...
Film je nominiran za Oscara 1950. za najbolju originalnu priču i scenarij (T. E. B. Clarke); za nagradu BAFTA nominiran je u kategoriji najbolji britanski film itd.
