Nastao na osnovu proslavljenog istoimenog romana Horhea Franka, film „Paraiso travel“ (koji je rekorder po biskopskoj zaradi u Kolumbiji) govori o Marlonu Kruzu (Aldemar Korea), mladom Kolumbijcu koji, nakon što ga na to nagovori njegova devojka Rejna (Anhelika Blandon), napušta svoj udobni životu u Medeljinu u Kolumbiji i kreće s njom kroz Gvatemalu i Meksiko, preko granica, do ilegalnog ulaska u Sjedinjene Države. Marlonovo putovanje, koje ga vodi kroz sumnjive striptiz-barove, plesne dvorane, hostele za beskućnike i ulice Džekson Hajtsa, dovešće ga do mesta koje nije mogao da predvidi.
