Jonathan (Doug McKeon) je nespretan u prilaženju djevojkama, ali i u svemu čega se prihvati u školi. No kada Gene (Chris Nash) na svom motoru stigne u grad, Jonathanov život će se promijeniti iz korijena. Genov način ponašanja i stav pomaže Jonathanu da se ulovi u koštac s problemima. Oni postanu nerazdvojni prijatelji, koji se ne boje suočiti s nasilnicima u školi, usprotiviti se roditeljima ili bez straha prići djevojkama.
Radnja filma smještena je u vjerno prikazan gradić iz 50-tih godina kada je život bio mnogo jednostavniji. No neke stvari se nikada ne mijenjaju. Problemi u školi, u ljubavi, sukobi s roditeljima ili samo izražavanje buntovnog stava protiv društva i danas čine dio odrastanja. Film je režirao Mel Damski, koji se u novom tisućljeću orijentirao na snimanje serija poput poznatih „Frikova“, „Čarobnica“ ili „Ally MacBeal“. Uz odlične Douga McKeona i Chrisa Nasha, spomenimo i prelijepu Kelly Preston, Catherine Mary Stewart i Jami Gertz, koje će bez problema osvojiti svako muško srce!
