Američka pustolovka Eve nađe se, bez novca, u Parizu te se sprijatelji
s taksistom Tiborom Czernyjem.Napusti ga uguravši se na jednu zabavu
gdje upozna bogatu Helene Flammarion i njezina ljubavnika Jacquesa Picota,
koji se zainteresira za Eve. Helenin suprug Georges dogovori se s Eve da joj plati
ako ona uspije zavesti Picota i na taj način ga odvući od Helene.
Predstavljajući se kao barunica Czerny, Eve dolazi u dvorac Flammarionovih
pokraj Pariza i sve ide po planu dok se ne pojavi zaljubljeni Tibor tražeći Eve.
Film je vrhunski primjer nadogradnje temeljnog obrasca romantične screwball-komedije,
prikaza nastanka ljubavne veze kroz dijaloške sukobe i s razrješenjem u idiličnom ambijentu.
