Les sorcières de Salem (1957)

Francusko-istočnonjemački crno-bijeli historijski film snimljen 1957. u režiji Raymonda Rouleaua. Predstavlja adaptaciju istoimene drame američkog književnika Arthura Millera, a koja je prikazivala stvarne događaje u Novoj Engleskoj krajem 17. vijeka, odnosno znamenita suđenja vješticama iz Salema. Protagonist, čiji lik tumači Yves Montand, je John Proctor, jedini član skupštine grada Salem koji se protivi planovima lokalnih bogataša na čelu sa zamjenikom guvernera Thomasom Danforthom (čiji lik tumači Raymond Rouleau) da se dodatno obogate na račun svojih siromašnih sugrađana. Radnja prikazuje kako bolest njegove supruge Elizabeth Proctor (koju tumači tadašnja Montandova supruga Simone Signoret) i zavođenje od strane sluškinje Abigail Williams (koju tumači Mylène Demongeot) pokreće tok događaja koji će dovesti do zloglasnog lova na vještice.
