Francuski crno-bijeli film snimljen 1936. u režiji Jeana Renoira, poznat po tome što je u njemu Renoir promovirao vlastiti ljevičarski na najeksplicitniji način u svojoj filmografiji. Naslovni protagonist, koga glumi René Lefèvre, službenik u maloj izdavačkoj kući koji postigne uspjeh pišući vestern-romane nakon što je poduzeće napustio pokvareni vlasnik (koga glumi Jules Berry), a zaposlenici se samoorganizirali u zadrugu. Radnja prikazuje kako Lange ubija vlasnika prilikom pokušaja da na prevaru preuzme poduzeće sa plodovima tuđeg rada. Film je napravljen nedugo pred izbore 1936. godine na kojima je pobijedio Narodni front sa programom opsežnih socijalnih reformi i povećanja radničkih prava. [wiki]
