Radnja filma se odvija u drevnom Egiptu sredinom 3. milenijuma p.n.e. i prikazuje kako tadašnji faraon Keops započinje izgradnju čuvene piramide. Sin graditelja piramide sticajem okolnosti postaje uvučen u spletke Keopsove lepe ali bezobrzirne supruge, princeze Nelifer (Džoan Kolins).
