Опис:
La perla (engl. The Pearl); sh. Biser) je američko-meksički igrani film snimljen 1947. u režiji Emilia Fernandeza. Temelji se na pripovjetci/romanu The Pearl američkog književnika Johna Steinbecka koji je također sudjelovao u pisanju scenarija. Protagonist, koga tumači Pedro Armendáriz, je Kino, siromašni stanovnik ribarskog sela koji je uspio pronaći orijaški biser te se nada kako će njegovom prodajom platiti liječenje svom sinu. Radnja prikazuje kako se biser pretvara u prokletstvo, odnosno kako sumještani, vođeni zavišću i pohlepom, pokušavaju oduzeti biser, a što će sve dovesti do tragičnih posljedica. La perla je iste godine prikazana na venecijanskoj Mostri gdje je dobila posebnu nagradu žirija.
