Ovaj „film“ je u stvari foto-roman ili filmski roman (ciné-roman), kako ga je definisao sam Marker.
Niz fotografija, praćenih tekstom (pričom „o čoveku obeleženom jednom slikom iz detinjstva“) i muzikom.
U njemu ima samo jedan kadar snimljen filmskom kamerom, koji možda nećete ni primetiti,
pošto ste se do tada već navikli na nizanje fotografija (sićušan, ali majstorski ubačen detalj).
Sve izgleda kao recept za dosadu ili nešto suviše statično. Ali, reč je o jednom od najuspelijih
eksperimenata u svetu filma ikada.

Najpoznatiji omaž ovom delu je film „12 majmuna“, Terija Gilijama... opširnije: anarhistička-biblioteka
