Во текот на Златната треска во 1898 година, Емили Мејер се придружува на група германски имигранти кои допатувале на далечниот север за да најдат злато. Седуммина трагачи кои не знаат што сѐ ги очекува го напуштаат гратчето Ашрофт каде што завршува пругата и се упатуваат на далечен пат. Додека се губат во пространствата на Канада, чувствуваат замор. Уште полошо од сѐ е тоа што мапите не се веродостојни. Во сите ќе се вовлече сомничавост и патот станува сѐ потежок.
