Опис:
Esther (Summer Phoenix) je mlada djevojka koja je odgojena među siromašnim židovskim krojačima na istočnoj strani Londona krajem 19.-og stoljeća. Njena teška mladost utjecala je na njenu osobnost te je ona tako postala sposobna izraziti svoje emocije. Kada doživi svoj prvi susret s glumom Esther shvati da gluma iz nje izvlači ono najbolje te odluči postati glumica. U svojem uspjehu prema glumačkom vrhu Esther upoznaje zanimljivog glumca (Ian Holm).
Film je nominiran za nagradu Zlatna Palma 2000.godine na filmskom festivalu u Cannesu
