De noorderlingen (1992)

„Severnjaci“ su mračna i nadrealna crna komedija smeštena u oronule kuće 1960-ih godina. Kad su njegovu majku počeli da zanimaju svetitelji, i kad mu postaje teško da se nosi sa frustracijama svog oca, mladić Tomas, postaje opsednut događajima koje vidi na vestima. U to vreme dolazi do oslobođenja Belgijskog Konga i Tomas postaje Lumumba, jedan od kandidata za novog vođu Konga. Ohrabruje ga eskapizam Plagea, poštara koji čita svačiju poštu i zna sve bizarne i intimne tajne ekscentričnih stanovnika.
