Ali, čim stigne na mjesto događaja Charlie Chan shvati da policajci nisu u pravu.
On prati tragove do misterioznog Zodijaka, navodnog iluzionista. U potrazi za istinom Charliu pomaže i Rhadini,
mađioničar koji se nada da će uspjeti razotkriti Zodijaka kao varalicu i ucjenjivača.
