Опис:

Carrie dolazi vlakom u Chicago s velikim ambicijama. Zaposli se na šivanju cipela i sva joj zarada odlazi na stan i hranu koju plaća sestrinom mužu. Kad se ozlijedi na poslu, dobije otkaz. U pomoć joj priskače trgovački putnik kojeg je upoznala u vlaku i povede je u otmjeni lokal koji vodi George Hurstwood. Uskoro će Carrie pobjeći s Hurstwoodom u New York i početi karijeru glumice...
