Опис:


Arrested during the Monmouth Rebellion and falsely convicted of treason, Dr. Peter Blood is banished to the West Indies and sold into slavery. In Port Royal, Jamaica the Governor's daughter Arabella Bishop buys him for L10 to spite her uncle, Col. Bishop who owns a major plantation. Life is hard for the men and for Blood as well. By chance he treats the Governor's gout and is soon part of the medical service. He dreams of freedom and when the opportunity strikes, he and his friends rebel taking over a Spanish ship that has attacked the city. Soon, they are the most feared pirates on the seas, men without a country attacking all ships. When Arabella is prisoner, Blood decides to return her to Port Royal only to find that it is under the control of England's new enemy, France. All of them must decide if they are to fight for their new King.

    Radnja : Peter Blood (E.Flynn) je britanski doktor ,koji biva bačen u ropstvo zbog pružanja pomoći ranjenom pobunjeniku.Nakon što ga kupi nećakinja (O.De Havilland) brutalnog vlasnika plantaže, Blood uspjeva pobjeći i zauzeti brod te upada u neprekidni niz avantura...

    Zanimljivosti u i oko filma :

    - ovaj film je udario temelje pustolovnom žanru i unutar tog žanra otvorio zanimljiv podžanr gusarskog filma.Prestavlja  malu knjižicu savjeta ,kako se treba raditi dobar pustolovni film, red akcije, red humora, red fantastičnih kadrova prirode broda i mora, red uzbudljivosti i prije svega dobar tempo radnje...
    -Prvi film para Flynn/De Havilland .Kemija u filmu je fantastična.Iako nigdje nije potvđeno ,bilo je govorkanja da je slatkica De Havilland pala na šarm naočitog australca .Ovaj glumački par glumio je još u sljedećih 8 filmova (The Charge of the Light Brigade,The Adventures of Robin Hood,Dodge City,Four's a Crowd,The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex,Santa Fe Trail,They Died with Their Boots On,Thank Your Lucky Stars).
    -Captain Blood je remake istoimenog  njemog filma iz 1923 ,koji je bio toliko loš ,da je ostao prilično nezapažen.
    -Ulogu P.Blooda je prvobitno bila ponuđena Robert Donatu, međutim on ju je prezrivo odbio
    -Errol Flynn australac ,na castingu za ulogu toliko je zadivio svojim magnetizmom i atletskim seksipilom prisutne (dameWink) ,da mu je Jack Warner odmah ponudio ugovor sa svojom filmskom kućom.
    -Film i sada djeluje svježe i izaziva strahopoštovanje filmofila ,a režisera Michaela Curtiza doveo je do željenih projekata (Casablanca).
