"Blood and Sand" je film legendarnog režisera Rouben Mamoulian koji je odlično prikazao scene borbe sa bikovima, vjerno prenesevši posvećenost koju osećaju ljudi čija je strast arena i borba s bikovima.

Ovo je priča o usponu i padu mladog, samouverenog toreadora Juan Gallardo. Cijelog života sanjao je postati najboljim toreadorom u Španjolskoj. Napredovao je polako i zasluženo stekao slavu. Pošto je u srcu ostao dječak sa sela, rastrgan je između starog i novog života, i između dvije jake žene - svoje supruge Carmen i zavodljive Doña Sol des Muire.
