Film je djelomično baziran na biografiji Hellen Keller, o slijepoj, gluhoj i nijemoj djevojci i njezinu dugogodišnjem mentoru.
Osmogodišnja Michelle zarobljena je u svom svijetu tame i ne uspijeva se povezati sa svijetom oko sebe zbog čega ima napadaje bijesa. Pavao i Catherine, njeni očajni roditelji nalaze joj ekscentrična učitelja Debraja koji uz mnogo vremena i upornosti uspijeva doprijeti do nje.

Pre svega bih pohvalio odličnu glumu Amitaba i Rani.
Tragičan i poučan film, ali ne toliko da bih mu dao veću ocenu od 7.
