Kada mu se brak i karijera nađu u ćorsokaku, pisac Jack Spencer putuje sa ženom Amandom na izolovano odredište, u nastojanju da će pronaći iskru koja će ga ponovo zapaliti. Međutim, dolazi do iznenađujućeg dupliranja bukinga, usled njihov privatni mir uopšte neće biti postignut. Jack se sada nalazi u komičnom istraživanju svrhe ljubavi, izgubljenih snova, samozvanih "mudrosera" i... prijateljstva sa minijaturnim magarcem.
