Temelji se na Klugeovoj noveli Anita G. iz zbirke Lebensläufe, a koja je, pak, bila inspirirana stvarnim slučejem iz crne kronike Protagonistica, čiji lik tumači Kluegova sestra Alexandra Kluge, je djevojka koja je zajedno sa roditeljima emigrirala iz Istočne Njemačke na Zapad, a radnja prikazuje njene, uglavnom neuspješne, napore da se prilagodi novom životu, što će je navesti da počne činiti krivična djela.
